Head Product Designer

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>About the Role</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">We’re hiring a Product Designer to shape how thousands of companies see, understand, and cut their cloud and AI spend. You’ll own the end-to-end experience of Pump’s platform, from onboarding and savings dashboards to AI cost tracking, and turn complex billing and infrastructure data into something clean, simple, and easy to act on.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">This is a hybrid design and build role. You’ll work directly with our founders and engineers with little process in between. You’ll go from user research to Figma to shipped code, using AI coding tools like Claude and Cursor to prototype and build alongside the engineering team. We’re looking for someone with a high craft bar, a taste for clean and minimal design, and the drive to move fast in a startup that’s scaling quickly.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Implement and test new product features, ensuring they are intuitive, reliable, and performant.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Lean towards a clean, minimal, and modern user experience and design.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Conduct thorough product analysis, including user research, feedback analysis, and data-driven insights to inform product improvements.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with UX/UI to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Work closely with backend and frontend engineers to integrate product features seamlessly.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and maintain code quality standards.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Qualifications:</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">5+ years of experience as a product designer, building scalable and reliable web applications, preferably in a pre-Series B startup.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Graphic Design, or related field</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Proficiency in industry-standard design &amp; Gen AI coding tools such as Claude, Cursor, Figma, Lottie and other relevant software for graphic design, prototyping, and collaboration.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong proficiency in graphic design is preferred</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Familiarity with agile development methodologies and practices.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in cross-functional teams.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Passion for creating exceptional user experiences and driving product innovation.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools is a plus.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Benefits</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Competitive compensation + equity</li> <li>Comprehensive medical and dental coverage</li> <li>401(k) plan</li> <li>Generous paid time off, including 13 days of accrued PTO, 9 sick days, all 11 federal holidays, and a company-wide winter break from December 24 through January 1</li> <li>Free lunch at the office</li> <li>Free access to the building gym</li> <li>Annual company-paid retreats</li> <li>Developmental bonuses: support for professional development tied to cloud and related fields</li> </ul>
